About this event

Join us for “The Business of Music and Heritage: Community Conversation” to celebrate Black Business Month.

We will delve into the rich interplay between Black music and cultural heritage, exploring how the vibrant history and traditions of the Black community influence and shape the music industry today. We are thrilled to have Eric Doizer, an expert in the field, as our guest speaker for the evening, sharing insights and experiences on how Black cultural heritage impacts the business of music.

Eric is a sought-after subject matter expert and artist in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. He has delivered numerous workshops for higher education institutions and companies like Accenture and eBay. He is a regular presenter and provocateur for impact investment firms such as Illumen Capital and the Impact Experience, working to bring more significant equity to finance. Dozier has worked extensively with independent schools, presenting for the National Association of Independent Schools several times. He has developed an arts and culture curriculum for the National Museum of African American Music. Recently, he received an invitation to keynote the Central Eastern European Schools Association annual conference in Vilnius, Lithuania.

Dozier co-founded the Children’s Theater Company of NYC and co-created the internationally recognized Character Education Framework, which multiple chapters across the United States adopted. Finally, within a year, Eric will have an award-winning musical, The Ballad of Henry Box Brown, debuting on Broadway.

We look forward to having you join us for an evening of thoughtful discussion and great conversation!
