Community Resource Guide: 5 Food Pantries Serving Mobile and the Gulf Coast

The cost of living has increased drastically over the last decade, affecting thousands of people across America.  According to the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, SNAP participation nationwide declined by more than 5 million people between July 2025 and June 2026, a decrease of approximately 13%. The organization estimates that more than 1.5 million children have lost access to SNAP nationwide.

In the State of Alabama, between July 2025 and May 2026, 81,838 Alabamians lost SNAP benefits, including 23,324 children, representing a statewide drop of 11%. These are numbers we can’t ignore. Food insecurity is something that many families and individuals throughout the US suffer from.

Though there are many assistance programs out there, not everyone is aware of the services that may be just around the corner, or they don’t have up-to-date information.

The Vivian’s Door Media Hub created this guide to help keep community members informed about local food-assistance resources and where to turn for support. This guide highlights five food pantries serving Mobile and surrounding Gulf Coast communities, along with Feeding the Gulf Coast’s searchable database of additional pantries, food drives, and mobile food distributions.
